Lights, Camera, Action............
Yes, we realize this is not a movie, but for us this adventure has all of the excitement of a movie premiere, opening of a Broadway show, and even a super bowl, all wrapped into one.
We welcome you to our World Cruise 2012 Blog where we will share with each of you our experiences, observations, thoughts, and day-to-day happenings throughout our journey. Since two of our stops include Hawaii, we thought it was fitting to include a photo from our visit to Oahu earlier this year.
This adventure represents several firsts for us including:
- Cruising 122 days marking our longest time at sea on one continuous sailing;
- Sailing on our first December Holiday Cruise;
- Visiting seventeen ports of call for the very first time and;
- Arriving to seven new countries for the very first time by cruise ship.
We will post a few more times before this journey begins, and also while we are in Miami during our pre-cruise stay.
In the meantime, make yourself at home by exploring our home page of this Blog where you will see relevant information about our journey. This includes maps depicting the route of our voyage as well as our itinerary. Below this information are some links including the last link which will take you to the live views from the bridge of the ship.
You can also post comments and questions on the Blog and we look forward to reading each and everyone of them. If you have questions, be sure to post them, and we will do our best to answer each and everyone of them. Posting a comment is simple. At the end of any given post you will see a comments area which you just click on. It will bring you to a screen where you can write a comment and then you will be asked to do a simple word verification. If you do not have a Google e-mail account just click on anonymous before posting your comments.
As we have done in the past, we will share a thought for the day for each and every post and today's thought relates to our belief in travel. Today's thought is one of our favorites related to travel.
TODAY'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY............
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain
Keith and Anne Marie

Dear Keith and Anne Marie,

May you feel a greater share in the world you are about to visit and may that reaffirm your feelings as a citizen of the world--that we are all responsible for one another, that we are all brothers. We hope the journey will be one of enrichment, new friends, great laughs and excitement. We look forward to following your adventure daily. Travel safely!
lots of love,
Ricki and David

Wishing both of you a Holiday Bon Voyage and then Fair Winds and magnificent following World Cruise Seas. Can't wait to vicariously cruise along with both of you. Keith, would be an interesting challenge for you to track the minutes you spend on the elliptical/cardio (spin) machines during your World Cruise. My guess: 12,335 minutes :)
