FIRST DAY IN MIAMI

Slept Well ✔     Took Long Walk      Wonderful Weather       Purchased More Items For The Voyage      Walked More ✔      Enjoyed Our First Full Day In Miami

As no surprise, we easily fell asleep last evening after having been up so early yesterday morning.    While the hotel is very quiet and we have a quiet room tucked in the corner , we probably could have fallen asleep almost anywhere including standing up.

Our first stay at this hotel was actually before the start of the 2007 World Cruise as this was the hotel that Crystal used for the World Cruise Gala.  Since that time we have enjoyed several other nice stays at this hotel.   We prefer the location of the hotel, as we enjoy being centrally located in downtown Miami.  For those preferring the beach or a very lively atmosphere, they may enjoy hotels in locations such as South Beach but for us this hotel and location are perfect.

The hotel is decorated for Christmas.  Many tourists visit the hotel this time of year to celebrate Christmas, Chanukah and New Years.

One of several pieces of artwork in the hotel by a local Miami Artist.  Some of his artwork can also be seen in the city.

Our hotel room has two separate rooms; a nice size living room area and a bedroom.  Rather than having a full blown breakfast at the hotel, we just had a simple breakfast in our room with food items that we had picked up last evening at a local food store.

We enjoyed watching the sunrise over the bay from our room as we enjoyed breakfast.

After breakfast we freshened up and then we took our first very long walk since arriving here yesterday afternoon.  We walked over from the Hotel over to the Port of Miami.  There were several ships in port. From what we can tell they were mainly the cruise ships that do the three to five night sailings such as this Royal Caribbean Ship.

During our walk back from the Port we saw a Direct TV Blimp and then as it maneuvered we saw a plane heading in the same direction of the Blimp but it was well overhead of it.

On our way back from the port we stopped by a couple of more stores to continue to pick up some additional items for the voyage.  The weather ranged from sunny, to partly cloudy to even a few drops of rain.  We stopped by the grocery store to pick up salads to bring back to the room.  Afterwards, it was back out to purchase a few more items.  We now have most of our list completed.

Keith posed for a photo outside in front of the Hotel  in his cranberry colored hat and shirt.

Before dinner we took a nice long walk over to Claughton Island which is considered Brickell Key.  We enjoyed a nice walk around the small island.

We had dinner again at Perricone's this evening.  First photo of Keith was taken last evening and the other photos are from this evening.

We each began our dinner with a nice salad.

We each also had the seafood entree special which was a Norwegian Trout.

On our way back to the hotel we enjoyed seeing the nice Holiday Lights.

TODAY'S THOUGHT OF THE DAY..............
