We had a wonderful evening last night.
While we did not dine at the Crystal Dining Room, these are the dinner menus from last evening.
Our evening began with the annual World Cruise Block Party. The block party was held on the Officers Deck where we visited the Captain's Quarters, the Quarters of the Hotel Director, Vice Captain and Chief Engineer. Each room was decorated and there were crew members in costume in each room offering a different selection of canapes and drinks in each room.
We had a most enjoyable time talking with fellow guests, officers and other members of the crew. One could feel quite a bit of movement from the seas as the location of these quarters is on Deck 11 and is very forward on this deck. Keith spoke with Captain Glenn for a few minutes about the seas and the upcoming weather conditions.
The party was held at two different times; 5:15 PM for those in Main Seating and 7:45 PM for those in late seating. Of course, one could come to whichever party they chose.
We were greeted by this charming character as we entered the first of the rooms we visited.
We were not sure who it was until he spoke with us and as soon as he uttered a few words we quickly recognized that it was one of the Crystal Ensemble of Singers and Dancers; Boris Navakov.
This was the largest bottle of Sake that we have ever seen.
Anne Marie posted next to Shane Morley who is one of the members of the Crystal Ensemble Of Dancers and Singers.
Here we are with Lead Vocalists Stephanie Roth and Michael Scott Harris
We dined in Prego last evening with Shore Excursion Manager James Coughlin and James' Girlfriend Crystal Society Hostess (she is on Holiday right now) Sara Lederer. We dined together with James and Sara last year and had a terrific time with them.
Prego was quite quiet last evening so for the start of dinner it was as if we had the dining room pretty much to ourselves. A little while later there were some guests dining, but not too many.
Our waiter for the evening was Costa who took great care of us throughout dinner.
We each began our meal with a beef consomme.
For our second course, we each had salads. Anne Marie had the Caesar Salad and Keith had his standing order salad.
For our entree we each had one of the additional entrees which was swordfish. As usual, it was quite tasty and cooked to perfection.
We each ended the meal with a small vanilla Gelato and Keith had a fruit plate.
We had a fantastic time with James and Sara. We could have talked for hours upon hours. It is always a delight to be with them.
We enjoyed the Swordfish for our entree.
Before we went to sleep, we forwarded our clocks one hour as we continue to sail into a new time zone. We have several more hours to go.
With the seas a bit more rough we heard some noises coming from our verandah as some of the outdoor furniture was banging into the table so we walked onto the verandah and with Keith holding one of Anne Marie's arms she moved the chairs with her other hand.
We got a fairly good night's sleep, although Keith woke up a few times due to the windy sea conditions. He still managed to get up at his regular time although this is/will be more challenging with the continued time zone changes.
Once up, Keith worked out in the Fitness Center. Brian arrived a little after Keith did. There is a sign that has been up the past couple of days as one enters the Fitness Center alerting guests to be careful given the sea conditions. Once during the workout it appeared that a fairly strong wave hit the ship from its side.
After his workout, Keith had coffee at the Lido Cafe as he read and wrote e-mail. He spoke with a few of the Lido Cafe Stewards including Nat, Alvin and Martin.
A short time after Keith returned to the room Anne Marie worked out for an hour on the Treadmill.
We enjoyed breakfast in our room thanks to Rao as we watched the Daily Morning Show. We called in and correctly answered one of the trivia questions.

During Captain Glenn’s morning talk from the bridge he noted that it will stay windy for the next 24 hours and then begin to calm down a little bit. We are sailing mainly eastward and staying South of the Storm Center.
We were moving at 20 knots per hour and will maintain the speed as long as we can. Sea conditions are around 12 to 15 feet and between 50 and 60 knots which is equal to a storm.
The captain recommended that everyone stay inside due to the high winds and that during the day its better to be on one of the lower decks. He urged everyone to use caution including holding onto the handrails when using the stairwell.
The Captain shared his thought for the day which is as follows.
“Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.”
These are two photos that we took from inside the Crystal Cove in the morning. Winds picked up even more.

Later in the morning, Ken Rees gave a presentation that was titled "The weird, the wild and the wacky: Life on the road as a TV correspondent. My favorite stories that never made air." We didn't attend this one as we have heard this one on a previous cruise. Nevertheless, it is a terrific presentation.
Since today was a sea day, we had our third game of Team Trivia on this final segment of the World Cruise with several more games to come. Our team correctly answered twelve of fifteen questions. Due to the weather situation Team Trivia was moved from the Palm Court which is on the highest interior deck and very far forward to the Stardust Lounge which is located on a lower deck at the far back of the ship.
After Team Trivia we each enjoyed a nice salad entree for lunch.
With the weather situation it was not possible to play Paddle Tennis. Keith met up with friend Bob in the afternoon and then afterwards did some reading and writing.
Anne Marie read and wrote.
This evening we will be in Prego with our Trivia Team.
We will post more on this tomorrow.
TODAY'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY....

Hold on tight friends!
ReplyDeleteNow for a few silly questions:
1. what are the orange or red lapel pins people are wearing in your third photo?
2. What is the significance of the number at the bottom of the screen in the morning show photo?
3. Will you be world cruising again in the future? Care to join us in 2015?
thanks for a great blog,
Ilene and Andy
